As someone who worked at logistics Center, I know this is a rare occasion, but it can happen and it did happen once during my time working there(there is not mend Walmart though). This is a mistake where Logistic center uses internal stickers to label products on their arrival for the period they are in the logistic center - tracking function on where the product has been and who has worked with it. The product comes into "Supplier Import" in large quantities on a pallet. Sometimes of same products, sometimes mixed. Then the thing is labeled and split. This is the most critical part and one mistake of an employee overlooking or being distracted (for whatever reason) can label the package wrong. If there is no secondary quality assurance check involved, then the whole process after that can be a mess, since no next employee handling the article will ever look at anything else then the label. No matter what you think, handle a view hundreds(or 10) of those packages, you will stop looking at what it is(it just become a box that translates work for you). The second time this could be checked is when the order came in and you have to commision it to the Cash desk. Again, in a rush, you just check the label. and the cycle is complete. It only takes 2 people, distraction or inattention and you get at least 2 more angry people. 1 customer complaining and 1 customer support employee who has to handle the case, neither having any fault in the process. As to the fact that a parent has no idea what he got, well, maybe a grandparent or someone above 40 maybe. The kids using this would figure it out for sure.

Lol typical Walmart Scam, few years ago I purchased 17" Laptop. Luckily printed the add out when I ordered it. When it came in it was a refurbished unit and they argued that it wasn't wrong on site. I sent them copy of the add, a couple of weeks later it was changed. They were very arrogant re my claim. There was printed sheet in box which said it was refurbished. It is always buyer beware when dealing with Walmart.

plz dont buy prebuild pc´s! it edges on crime. my pc did cost a fortune. its hardcore custom, no prebuild. I knew why I did a lot of custom building on it. and it means not only the hardware selection but also details of cabeling, led performance, hard drives mixing and custom mounting, custom watercooling and fan setups and on... but the point I got is. my custom pc did cost a lot more than 2000 euros (or around 2000 dollars, almost the same) but anyways if I would have bought my machine prebuild from a retailer I would have payed around 10000 maybe 12000 euros, fact! but this way I payed a overall sum of about 2000 to 4000 euros, second fact! my parents have bought a prebuild pc from "otto" (I m german). well the point again is. I didnt suggest them to buy a prebuild pc but they wanted to. after it arrived I checked it out. slow internet though its connected via cable directly to the router (my pc uses wlan but is almost 70 percent faster at surfing), the graphics performance of my parents pc I checked just because of neutral interest was poor. no detail, just standard image quality. the hdd is an sata hdd which has ridiculous load times. the memory in the otto pc is cheap. ddr 4 ram 16gb hardly able to run 2400 mhz because its just a ramstick without heatsink. the case just has two extremely cheap fans for the whole system, so the ram doesnt benefit from it, the airflow is weak the stuff goes on.

I highly doubt that it was a mistake sending the wrong PC. Walmart is pretty well known for their consistency in sending lower-end products than what is ordered. They know that the people buying these PCs are not going to be very knowledgeable and that there will be a large percentage of people who do not notice and won't send the product back for a replacement. They probably make a projection about how many people will notice and send them back, and how much this will cost them in shipping and processing, and how much more profit they will make selling cheaper hardware at a higher price-point, and if the latter is greater than the former, then it makes good business sense. It's a scumbag move from a scumbag company.

When I saw laptops from China back in 2006, they used to come with Windows XP and 4 partitions because the drive was formatted FAT32 and couldn't support the capacity with one large partition. I'm wondering if that's what's going on here. Would you be able to verify? It would explain a lot if they contracted with a Chinese computer manufacturer, designed the case in America, and then had them spec it out and put it together in China.

Do me a favor, look up a 10 minute YouTube video of how to build a PC (Not the VERGE video), and learn how to build one. If you build this PC, it will cost you around $500 less AND you will know that the quality is high on it. I've never built a system from scratch. I haven't seen many modern systems. My own system is truly ancient by most people's standards. That said, the first thing that came to mind when I watched videos about these computers is why is there all that empty space inside the case? The case is literally twice as big as it needs to be to house all the components. And do gamers really like bunches of LEDs lighting up the case? I'm not a "gamer" in the sense that I usually play old games on my old system, but I often like to play in the dark and the last thing I want is some neon-rainbow lighting up the room. Actually, I'd like to be able to build my own system from scratch, but I really don't want to have to have a PHD in computer hardware to know what to buy. All the facts you were stating about the motherboard are why most people never attempt to build their own system. You can't just look at the specs of a board to tell if it's good or not, you have to know all the ins and outs of motherboard design as well. I'm very much an end-result type of person. I couldn't care less about the journey getting there, to me it's just a means to an end. So having to get bogged down in the researching the parts phase is a huge discouragement for me. :(

Vor 6 Tage
lurkerrekrul
lurkerrekrul

At one point I was going to try building a system. I picked out a motherboard that had great specs. Then I Googled it and half the people said it was garbage, citing things like the chipset, the DMA speeds, that the video card slot was somehow integrated badly, etc. I found another motherboard with great specs, Googled it, same result. Another board, another bunch of people claiming it's garbage. And in every case, they cited things that are impossible to tell from the specs. My current system was bought refurbished. I bought it because the specs sounded good and people online didn't seem to have too many negative things to say about it. It was never claimed to be a gaming system though, and was probably somewhat out of date when I bought it. Even so, internal hard drive access seems slow, even for low-end drives and the only other PCIE slot I have is blocked by the graphic card. When looking for a graphics card, many of them said they needed a 500W power supply or better. Then someone told me not to worry because the 450W PS in this system was heavy duty and better than a 500W one. Again citing things not in the specs. Even choosing the right CPU is a pain in the ass. It used to be that a higher numbered chip was better than a lower numbered one. And then a higher clock speed was better than a slower one. Now you have tons of other factors that can make an i3 chip faster than an i7, assuming the board you want to use will support the CPU you want to use. My current system will accept a CPU that the BIOS doesn't support. In fact, people have claimed that the board can support much more advanced CPUs if you want to mess around with third-party programs to manually set a bunch of system parameters that I have no idea how to set and that nobody seems willing to post clear instructions for. As for how long a new system will last, I never have anything close to a state of the art system. The one I'm using now is at least 10 years old with a graphics card that was described as "budget" even though it cost more over $100. I use it for daily stuff like going online, playing old games and running emulators. Although most newer emulators won't run on it and even if they did, they would probably be too slow. I'm amazed that I can still run new versions of PPSSPP and most games work great. To be honest, I'm not real fond of today's new games. I refuse to buy any games that use online DRM just out of principle, which is like 99% of what's released today. I also don't like how games today seem to have two minutes of cutscenes for every minute or so of gameplay. They also treat you like a moron by outlining everything you can interact with in neon colors, show you where to stand with colored rings on the ground, tell you what button to press for every action (how many times do YOU need to be told that "X" opens doors?) and yell at you if you stray too far off the path the designers set for you. Plus every game today seems to be infested with &*%$#@! quicktime events where the game literally tells you what to to do and when to do it. Don't even get me started on DLC, lootboxes and all the other crap plaguing today's games.

Another reason for space is to allow airflow and a lot of it. Some of the more higher end computers have the potential to reach higher temperatures.

Vor 5 Tage
Isaac Bell
Isaac Bell

A lot of the time people want the space to admire their components because they are EXPENSIVE. That's why mine has a fair bit of space and LEDs in it. I like to look at what i spent $1400 on :P. Also, your statement about having a PHD in computer hardware could not be farther from the truth. I am a 16 year-old high school student that plays video games, and i build one in October. Although you may need a bit of knowledge, which can be learned all from YouTube videos nowadays, you can essentially build a solid system for 700-800 bucks that doesn't have to include these LED lights and special features. Not to mention, now computer hardware isn't dating as quickly as something from 2000, that 700-800 dollar build can last you for well over 3-4 years running some new games. Just get out and build something man! Even if it isn't much. Just look at a youtube vid while you build, or follow some guides online and you can get a better bang for your buck. Thanks for talking about this matter, and I hope this helps!

This video and Walmarts PC are just a resemblance of what it's like to walk into any one of their stores. Sure, it looks great on the outside going in, and even as you enter, you feel pretty confident. But as soon as you're greeted by some gross, fat, obscene worker who doesn't give a shit you're turned off by their inconsistencies and it makes sense. Walmart should have consulted a professional. All I can say is that I've never called Walmart for customer service help (because I will NEVER shop at Walmart because of their DISGUSTING, unAmerican , business practices) but while watching this video, I had to stop it, and leave a comment. At aprox. 7:30 ish, when the guy's on the phone with a Walmart representative, how the hell can he understand her? Like I said, I never called Walmart, but I SWEAR I got that same girl, more than once!!! What is with these Asian women, who can barely speak a lick of English, working the PHONES??? I thought Asians were the smartest people in the world! Why can't they learn to talk?? I have been SO FRUSTRATED, DRIVEN OUT OF MY MIND on the phone with people who CANNOT COMMUNICATE IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE!! WTF?? Who hires these people? They don't have to LOOK nice. They don't have to SMELL nice. They don't have to DRESS nice. They just have to SPEAK!! Almost every time I get customer service on the phone , I'm either speaking to an a Asian sounding female who sounds like this, or worse, OR I speak with someone who's Southern EBONICS are so disgraceful, classless, and ignorant sounding, that I demand to speak to a manager, and YES I berate the fool I spoke with and tell them to learn how to speak!! It is such a joy to speak with someone, who actually speaks clear, comprehensible English. I always say thank you, when I meet one of them on the phone!

Great vids guys, question. I just bought a new computer, because the last one wasn’t loading, is there any way to get the data off the old hard drive? I still have some important info on it.
