I remember when I saw my friend computer in 90s using high end ATI graphics card. It was super smooth and give nice performance. Sad ATI stop. nivida Crashed ATI later in 20xx. After they gained lots of money from crazy minner, they don't realize gaming customers are different from minner. They made one graphic both buy it. Of course minner is the winner because they invest money and instead of buying one card they go as much as they can invest. We pay for entertainment only. One card enough. After huge profit they made become more and more greedy. I know nivida won't stop be greedy. And a lot of good reviews about Rx 480. My next pc will be AMD. Good performance, low cost, enough to do everything.

The x86 market is exponentially larger than the dGPU market and that's where AMD is making their money, not with dGPUs... AMD has given up on GPUs, and wisely so.....why do some people refuse to acknowledge that and still think there's this grudge match between AMD and Nvidia....AMD has zen now, something that has the potential to earn more than any GPU architecture, AMD therefore doesn't care about Nvidia, and Nvidia isn't a threat to AMD because of AMDs newfound success in x86, something Nvidia has no part in

I think it is very reasonable to assume the big IO chip will be EPYC only just because server guys really like their PCI-E busses and they need a lot of them. There is simply no need for an IO chip in a consumer platform, except if they were to integrate the Southbridge into the Northbridge.

The idea is to do workloads independently as cores, they don't go back and forth in the Io dye, they share cache and output directly. No latency on a dye for that. That's why it's called the I/o. 1 instruction in, 1 out, repeat. Chiplets handle heavy loads very efficiently

What you're missing, AMD CCX is now 8 cores vs 4 for 1000& 2000 chips. The 14nm io is able to be cut down into 4 section. Only need 1 IO scetion and one ccx for a 8/16 chip. That still leaves room for a GPU ccx if needed. Or two CCXs of CPU cores with one (1/4) IO controller.

Hello there Coreteks: 2019 does sound like it is shaping up to be a great year for tech. On the Navi front, I actually heard rumors that the high end Navi-10 card would be more on par with the RTX-2080 than the RTX-2070. but i could even see a 14-core Ryzen 7 CPU and the Ryzen 9 CPU have the 16 cores and the 12-core chips would be more for the Ryzen 5s. It is rumored that we could see Ryzen 9 CPUs hit the market as well just like we have with the Core-i9 CPUs like the 18-core/36-thread 7980XE and 8-core/16-thread 9900K. So that is where I think the 16-core parts would come into play cause I DID see some hints thru other videos talking about Ryzen 3000 at a Ryzen 9 CPU like snippets of charts with Ryzen 9 on them. So we could see the Ryzen 9 3800X as opposed to Ryzen 7 3800X. Back on the GPU side of things if AMD could pull off the same performance of the 2080 with the higher end Navi card and make it maybe $400 then that would be A STEAL cause the 2080 is $800 right now and would make it a better value than the 2070 cause you are getting more GPU for less money. That is why I think making it the performance of the 2080 for $400 would be a much better bet cause it could eat into 2070 sales and they coudl make the lower end Navi card the same performance as the 2070 and make that $300. If the 2070 is $500 and the Navi 64 (lets just say, it isn't the official name of the card) is $400 with the performance of the 2080, Which would you go for?

Vor 8 Tage
Alec Day
Alec Day

+Coreteks I DID NOT say 2080Ti but I DID say 2080, you misread that there. I am really thinking that they are going to make the Navi-56 on par with the 2070 for $300 and the Navi-64 on par with 2080 non-Ti model for $400. AMD coming out with a high end Navi card that is on par with the 2080 for $400 would be an absolute steal and quite honestly could eat into the 2070 sales. and what do you think of the possibility of Ryzen 9 CPUs as maybe the 3800X being a Ryzen 9 part with 16 cores and 32 threads and we could see the 3700X being a Ryzen 7 part with 14 cores and 28 threads to differentiate the 2 parts and could be 3800X chips that had one of its cores not working so AMD cuts out 2 of the cores and makes them the Ryzen 7 chips. I did see tables with rumored Ryzen 9 CPUs with unofficial specs (more than likely they were just engineering samples and not final retail silicon) and everything so I could see Ryzen 9 CPUs coming along as well to compete with the Core-i9 CPUs from Intel.

Vor 8 Tage
Coreteks
Coreteks

Hey man, I doubt that there will be a Navi matching the 2080ti straight away, I've heard it will only come out in Q4, maybe even in 2020. I'll buy the one that is equivalent to the 2070 for $300 if it's real, a whole year is too long for the Navi+ to wait in my opinion.

Vor 9 Tage
Wabefuhon
Wabefuhon

+Coreteks I did some looking up on what is in the nano meter scale. Human cells are 2.5nms. If techs can reach that size we should work on cybernetics of that scale. I know it's really expensive but we'll never reach cybernetic implants if no one is willing to fund it.

Vor 8 Tage
Coreteks
Coreteks

3nm is probably the max we can go because of quantum anomalies, but there will continue to be innovation through the use of new materials (graphene, etc) and new process techniques. We probably have at least another 10 years of silicon based CPUs ahead of us.

Dude, much of what you said has validity. But, you're wrong about Navi. If AMD can produce a Navi 10 card that compares to NVIDIA 2070 at $300, EVERYONE would buy that card!! Are you kidding me?

Vor 9 Tage
Mordakar
Mordakar

He's not wrong about Navi. It's not about who has the better product, it's about mindshare, and team green spends billions convincing enthusiasts, successfully, that there's no reason to switch. Even then, dick wagging about 10% better framerates, even at twice the cost, is usually all that matters to the people buying this kind of equipment. I was savaged on at least one YouTube thread after Nvidia's announcement of the RTX cards for suggesting they were price gouging, which they now clearly are. AMD has to compete against that, and it's not easy.

Vor 7 Tage
Coreteks
Coreteks

@alandab I wasn't being touchy at all, I was just responding to your comment. I don't mind being wrong (or WRONG as you put it...). The point of my videos is not to be right all the time, but to talk about what's over the horizon for tech. Peace.

Vor 9 Tage

+Coreteks Damn dude, touchy much? No one was trying to attack your sensitive ass I was just saying you're WRONG (in my opinion) about the response from the market about the Navi card @ $300. You might be a "negative-Nancy" regarding gamers, but I believe most sensible people will see a value and jump on it. We'll see later.

Vor 9 Tage
Coreteks

It's not about being right or wrong, it was the information that I got from inside the industry. And also, no, even at $300 people would still buy the 2070 instead.. more on that later.

if i where amd ill just go and make a crazy card thats MORE powerful than the top nvidia at the same price, heck ill make it MORE EXPENSIVE, idiots WILL BUY the "MORE POWERFULL" card always theyr idiot brains are hardwired to do it otherwise theyr boners wont work, or theyll get theyr memberships from the PC masterrace rejected or something, think about it, a dual vega 64 properly buided can easily beat a 1080ti right? sure it will cost like 1500$ but no matter the cost as long is the most powerfull in the market, right now we gotta wait for navi, since the current gen AMD is to far behind even tough the nvidia 20 series isnt all that hot,

only idiots who bought intel and nvidia got theyr wallets "nuked" this year, any smart person would have go AMD for the processor and used mining card for the GPU, KILLER sistems in the 400-600$ mark depending on how much performance youve wanted (athlon 4 cores+rx470 used dirt cheap great performance, ryzen 5+rx580 used, still cheap amazing performance, and if you wanted to splurge you could get a ryzen7+ used gtx1070 or 1060 humongous bang for your buck still under 600$,, hell right now you could go with a NEW card and still get amazing value and per dollar performance, (altough those used rx580 8 gigs are SOOOO cheap that is criminal)
