youre talking like the boring company has already revolutionized digging tunnels when in fact they have no other choice but to dig tunnels for sewage because their drill is tiny compared to their competitors drills:) I dont care what you tell me you cant go highway speeds in a tunnel that small also, why would i spend 20 min to tie down my car to go on a 10 min ride if i could drive, ride the bike or use public transportation? digging tunnels takes dekades especially in high density urban areas where people have been living for hundreds of years

Trump loves patting himself on the back for “saving” or “creating”jobs. He’s also really upset with GM for cutting 14,000 jobs. Is there some way you guys can get his attention and say hey look at all the jobs Tesla has posted. Let’s keep that 7,500 credit for EVs going? Like start a petition or something? I don’t understand what EV and solar jobs are not jobs worth “saving”. Let’s try and collectively draw his attention to these jobs and change his mind.

Hi, Zac and Jessie - great video. What if the Petrochemical Co. started converting their assets to Renewable Energy instead of Fossil Fuels. we Already use synthetic analogs for Plastic, Lubercants, Vegan Leather Etc. so, why cant Big Oil start closing its smaller OIL operations and begin to install GWh class Renewable Energy + Battery storage ? this would make the Transition to Sustainable Energy go faster. and America power more Reliable with Advanced micro grids. they would still be able to make money on the Electrical Generation end and Capitol Investment on RE hardware, Wind Trrbine, Solar ...ETC. places like West Virginia that use COAL burning powerplants can be converted to Renewable Energy, and in the mean time NG powerplants can be converted to use BIOGAS from Existing landfills.

Hey Zac and Jesse, I love watching your show and have been thinking a lot about tesla. 😁 In my opinion a "model 2" as a tiny car e.g. like a 'smart forfour' would be awsome for tesla's autonomous fleet. A extremely small car means less CO2 due to produce, less expensive to produce and less energy to run the car. I see Tesla to be it's own coustomer with producing between 2-3 million units/year (replacing uber) for that upcoming model . It would be the first real electric car designed for autonomous car sharing and would help the world reduce CO2 extremely. (Other automakers don't want do sth. like that) Maybe you could share your ideas in about a perfect car for the Tesla fleet in a video. Your Simon

Do you guys watch your own program. I watched a previous show that described the coming transition of transportation to EV. So what will happen to carbon from fossil fuels as this massive transition occurs. If you eliminate fossil fuels and continue to generate renewable. All that's left is to sequestered carbon. I find the artificial tree tech to be amazing and as the economics improve it is a utopia world (as far as climate change anyway). Gov reports are generally short sighted with an agenda attached. B

They will just increase the cost to charge your EV. Next thing you know, that cost effective EV will become expensive. The man aka the Government will always have their hands in the cookie jar to control the masses.

Hey Zack and Jesse.... I just saw this video that shows some of the data of just how money petrochemical companies are subsidized in LA alone. Might be helpful for your viewers to see that renewables are not on an equal playing field as far as subsidies go. And even with such a huge tilt favoring fossil fuels, renewables are still beinf favored. If these fossil fuel subsidies were eliminated or at least borught to a level that renewables are, they would be no contest. http://youtu.be/RWTic9btP38

Re Freshbox Farms: I really like what this company is doing. But one problem they still have to work on: How to eliminate the plastic packaging. I see this as a really important issue and it would be awesome if Freshbox could also set the standard for lowering plastic packaging. This would probably mean a system of reusable containers. Or client-supplied containers.

I as a German am very concerned about the German situation. They just DIDN'T WANT for soo long...to make more profit with the established products. Probably cause of oil interests as Tesla's profit margin is bigger than BMW's and Audi's. Now they've gambled away the right moment to jump on with full throttle. Very sad to look at. Cause, apart from denying the Zeitgeist, the really important steps regarding carbon emissions, their car's are so _nice_ .

The doom and gloom report from the gov, is the usual BS. Same kind of report in the 60's says we are going into an ice age. The real global warming is from the lowered level of gauss in certain parts of the world. It is all about the pole reversals, that take 100's of years. In the mean time certain parts of the earth get more radiation. Hence melting the ice. Nothing to do with CO2. It is a power grab by the state. Do you own homework.

Regarding the new Roadster's timing. Well, obviously Tesla DID give the competition a 2 to 3 year heads up in announcing a forthcoming $35,000 Model 3 which STILL hasn't shown up! Not that the competition has taken advantage of that opportunity to produce their own "affordable long range EV", perhaps with the exception of Hyundai/Kia, but they too are unable/unwilling to supply those vehicles to meet demand.

Interesting story about the Philippines. Efforts are being made to introduce electric Jeepnies in Manila and I think elsewhere in the Philippines. The petrol ones really create a stink; there are hundreds of the things on the roads, used for taxis and just about anything else under the sun that you can think of. That registration rule must mean the electric Jeepnies are being used illegally as well.

43:01 I don't think this has anything to do with the car not being ready. I think this has to do with the batteries not being ready. At 200kwh and a footprint smaller than the model S/X, I think this thing is going to be powered by a next generation solid state battery. The other thing that backs that up is the 1Mwh battery in the truck that will sell for around $200K. You don't get that density or that cost effectiveness without something major happening. The time frame for Tesla weaponizing a solid state battery also fits.

Good call at 7:58. While a continuous or indefinite tax credit for EVs might be like 'socialism', maybe it's still a good idea to move the line of expiration way further, say - until there are 25% to 50% EVs registered to drive on the roads in the U.S. That would be a good approach I think, and it would also let many Americans realize they 'still have a chance' to get the credit, while also sending the message that the U.S. government is 'Serious' about giving incentives for those buying an EV. Maybe many politicians would be for extending the tax credit, as long as they have a safe and concise definable line they could still easily enforce when it finally comes time to stop it (instead of falling into the trap of those wanting to normalize renewal every year, which is really just losing integrity of ones own established rules). So a change needs to be rational and politically graceful, in a way that benefits parties without making it appear the politicians are just push-overs and are just losing control of established rules. So, I think just annual renewal is not a good idea, but fundamentally changing the policy to a new rationale (like the 25% - 50% EV registrations above), would be definitely worth doing.

Actually in 2017 - the US gasoline used PER PERSON was 500 gallons annually ... 143B gallons... we burned just shy of 400 million gallons a day - little more than 1.25 gallon per person per day. 12 signs of an evil person (Politicians) 1. They Twist The Truth Don’t be surprised if this person will bend the truth, cherry pick information, take things out of context, or construct their own narrative to tell you something they want to spread to further push their own agenda. 2. They Withhold Important Information This person will not only keep important things secret but if you find out, they will effortlessly remove the blame from themselves and place it on you for not trusting them. 3. They Lie All The Time Although they may lie to further themselves, they may also do it simply for the fun of it. People are dispensable to them and they don’t care if they’re hurting anyone in the process. 4. They Deny Reality They live in a different world from you and this will always cause friction between you since they see things in a stilted way. While you know the facts, they see their own false interpretations. 5. They Mislead Everyone Around Them This person knows how to phrase everything in a way that can make you feel uncomfortable, stupid, or hated. Every interaction they have with others is to achieve whatever selfish goals they have, and manipulating your emotions is one way they gain control over you. 6. They Show No Remorse Evil people have a sense for latching onto kind people who are easy to take advantage. In their minds, they are always calculating who will be the best pawns in their game. They can singlehandedly ruin someone’s life and not bat a lash. 7. They Avoid Their Responsibilities Since evil people lack morality, they see no wrong with doing whatever they please. If the heat is ever on them, they quickly turn it onto someone else and turn people against anyone who has tried to wrong them. 8. They Are Manipulative If you think you’re clever, an evil person is already way ahead of you. They are cool and calculating machines who are never caught off guard. 9. They Have Ulterior Motives If this person is suddenly acting nice to you, don’t believe that they have changed for the better. Emotionally vulnerable people are the best targets and they will console you to gain your trust for their own use later. 10. They Steal Your Time Evil people think it’s funny to cause mishaps in other people’s lives. This could include distracting you, making you upset so that you can’t work, or talking with you constantly when they know you have better things you need to do. They want to watch you fail so they can feel better about their own achievements. 11. They Lead Multiple Lives Since these people are never honest, don’t be surprised if your impression of that person is way different from someone else’s. Evil people are chameleons who are constantly adapting to their social surroundings to better reach their goals. 12. They Are Control Freaks Since evil people view people as pawns, they can get agitated if you don’t follow their game plan. These people are possessive and make you feel like you’re not in control of living your own life. http://thuviencuocsong.xyz/how-to-know-if-someone-is-evil-12-signs/?fbclid=IwAR1tJi1GzTt11eebHbJqVoimI5BC1VL-fNOFtmNpLD8s1YlbM-iT4YoT1is

Help me with my math. Tesla have the cheapest batteries. Batteries are the most expensive component in an EV. VW say they will produce a better EV at half the price of a Tesla. How?

In addition to the German automotive leaders being spanked for their lack of vision and innovation, yesterday GM has announced the discontinuation of several sedan models and their supporting manufacturing plants too.  Elon, get ready to buy another GM plant (maybe the Lordstown Assembly in Warren, Ohio).

@now you know regarding the 30 minute mark. There IS registration for electric cars already in the Philippines starting this year. 'But for the longest time, yes, the Philippines is in the dark ages. There are no charging public charging stations NOT just Superchargers. There are 3 VIP's in the Philippines who had unregistered Teslas. There is a Model 3 owned by a wedding chaffeur service operator which IS registered. Currently Philippine laws have a 100% tax on imported cars. There is a different category when imported as parts, which some importers do by importing cars as parts. Currently, there are bills being developed to benefit EV's. Again, this is only happening now. Yes I will confirm that Philippines is in the dark ages not just of EV's but of sustainability in general.

One other difference between the Roadster 2.0 and a typical hyper car is actual drive ability--I mean ease of driving on a daily basis. You can't just hop into a hyper car and drive off like you will be able to in a Tesla Roadster. Hyper cars have a fairly substantial check list and starting procedure with an extended warm up period.

40 minute wait close to zero probability. Suppose a 16 station SC has a user pull-up every 2 1/2 minutes. By the time the 16th one pulls up the first one will be finished. In order for a queue to form, cars will have to show up faster than one every 150 seconds. In order for a 40 minute wait to occur cars would have to show up every 75 seconds.

Hey new meme, connecting the dots... if the Tesla cars can go 1,000.000 miles with only 20% degradation of battery range, THEN THEY ARE NOT EXPENSIVE. HERE YOU HAVE THE BEST CAR AND CHEAPEST CAR IN THE WORLD. Going 150,000 miles per car is 6.6 cars. At $20,000 per car that is $133,000 plus engine overhauls, parts, oil changes, brakes etc. Have I made a mistake?

Always room at the Gas Station? Not in and around London , Uk. Always having to queue during day. Also have to drive 15 to 20 Minutes to get there. Only time I don't have to queue is the all night pay at pump ones (but then they only have two available for pay at pump). Number of times I just drive away and try the next day.

Could you do a noise test in db with different speeds and compare these Tesla’s with different cars? Especially German luxury car brands with the same price range which are comparable, like a 5 bmw touring. Everyone of my friends says that Tesla is very noise, especially wind noise That is the only reason which prevents me buying a Tesla

There are 271,000,000 cars on the US roads. The oil indutsry gets 5 Trillion subsidy from the tax payer. Therefore, each car is oil subsized to $18,450. EV.s current subsidy is $7,500. Therefore, Big Oil is subsidised more than $10,950 than EV.s. Therefore, what are they bleating about? Why not give that subsidy to solar/EV.s/renewables?

Vor 21 Tag
Richard Snow
Richard Snow

No, $5 trillion is the global figure and it's for fossil fuels. That means that if you don't charge your EV on renewables, that EV is subsidized by these fossil fuel subsidies. Many of those subsidies are also just tax breaks all businesses get. So if the renewable energy industry was the same size as the fossil fuel industry, it may get a similar amount of subsidies. Just look at the subsidies that Nevada($1.3 billion) and New York($750 million) gave Tesla. That stuff happens all the time(Amazon, sports stadiums etc.) And sure, fossil fuel industries should have carbon taxes and pollution taxes, but as we transition to cleaner energy poor people may need some subsidies so they don't freeze in the winter or bake in the summer.

It's actually not even 7500 assured. It's not a refundable credit - it has to offset tax liability... and for Teslas after December it drops by half for 2 quarters and then half again the following 2....
