@Zero Some of the hardware that reviewers get is on loan, and some of it is given to them. They usually keep what is given to them because it acts as a baseline for comparing the newer hardware and rating how much of an improvement it really is, so I doubt that he would.
Do you sell Graphic cards? If so, how much would you sell a GTX 1080 for?
I definitely want loot boxes gone. They definitely do not enhance the experience and are, in fact, a source of frustration.
Just to clear things up, nvidia fucked themselves?
on 1060 topic - missing 1060 MaxQ ;)
dude i really love your channel art and intro video, nicest i've ever seen on a youtube channel
Love the progress bars in the news vids. they would be even better if they were clickable to goto the timestamp :)
I really hope Intels graphics cards are good. I don't like what they did in stagnating the CPU industry for almost a decade, but in a way that WAS AMDs fault for releasing trashdozer.
It's about time steve those photos should super high res.
The ESRB can go burn in hell along with the lootboxes that spawned them.
I don’t know why people bitch about loot boxes ( in a non pay to win environment ). We’ve had lootboxes since the invention of baseball cards. You know, a pack of random cards that you buy... with money... that may or may not have the card you want? You can play video games (non p2w obviously) without them even when they’re there. You can’t play magic, Pokémon, dbz, Yugi-oh, or any other tcg without buying cards. You’d have the starter deck, but you literally can’t go further without buying “loot boxes”(booster packs) as it’s built into the game. Sure you may be able to find a place to buy singles, that can get real expensive real fast! Let’s also remember that some loot boxes have “bad luck protection” built in, which allows for the eventual obtaining of the item you want anyway. You don’t get that in card games - which is 100% the same principal. I get the case for educating parents, and maybe doing something so kids don’t go crazy with them - but it’s really no different than a kid dragging their mom into Walmart to buy 50$ worth of Pokémon booster packs, hoping to get a charizard. I just think some perspective is needed. Because if loot boxes is gambling, then that makes every Tcg that’s ever been Mande gambling, collectible cards gambling, and anything that doesn’t have a 100% chance of giving what you’re after gambling, which would mean it all needs to be regulated. That’s absurd,
I had a i740 way back when, best GPU ever made. looking forward to Intels next attempt
Gamers beware. Being a gun guy and PC gamer I can tell you, you DO NOT want the government sticking their hands in gaming freedom. Loot boxes are gay and being a parental figure to a 16 13 and 12 year old being asked to buy money on Roblox or other shit for the 16 year olds games I despise it but you don't want the government telling game developers what they can and can't do. It's just slippery slope, Live Free or Die.
Off Topic, Curious to know is Intel GPU gonna require a brand new mobo with brand new PCIe slot?
Instead of making 1 photo and 10 other photos with that magnifying glass, why no just take a 5x3 pictures, stitch them like a panorama, and send him a really large image that he can zoom in ? It's gonna be better for the video also.
Amazon CPUs... wonder how many instructions are gonna get damaged during shipping...
Loot boxes are aimed at kids and wealthy players in that order. I mean its fine if someone wants to burn 1 million on loot boxes but when you got 1 million kids burning their lunch money .... not as good.
That 3D Mark RT Benchmarking will blow up many RTX cards lol. 1440p with insane detail and Ray Tracing??? I expect 20 FPS at BEST with a 2080, 35 with a Ti. 50 with the Titan.
Saw this originally in one of those PR magazines you find in a doctors waiting room... where's this on the review list :-) http://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2018/3/9/17100068/qarnot-qc-1-cryptocurrency-mining-rig-heater-home-electricity-ethereum
Looks like the tariffs are on hold for 90 days while US and China work out a new trade deal. I wonder if this will help prices, and if Seasonic will drop their price hike
So Intel calling their GPU "Arctic Sound". I wonder if the noise of the cooler will be like the sound of arctic winds or more like scream of a seal.
YOU MISSED THE 1060 MAXQ, AS SOMEONE WITH A DELL G5 1060 MAXQ I AM OFFENDED.
So to avoid loot boxes, games will copy rockstar/dice and rip you a new asshole through pay to win which is GTA online and RDR2 online
Do the amazon servers come with free two day shipping with my prime account?
Sorry guys those shirts do not look cute
Im not an American but in the UK we have arcades with 2p manchines. You insert it and if the coins fall of the edge you pick them up. Point is isnt that gambling? And its blatantly targeting kids to gamble.
It is pretty obvious they are suffering with low silicon yeld on their top end and they are doing every thing they can to recoup that by throwing the waist to the low end market as that stock piles up.
So GDDR=QDDR, Quad
polygon is trash, source them again and lose a viewer
The loot box industry reminds me a lot of the cigarette industry pre-1990's, in that IT'S OBVIOUSLY GAMBLING, but addicts and those that simply count it as part of their culture still defend it as being something less nefarious. Here's a non-gambling loot box scenario: A loot box contains stuff I want. I can either earn it with gameplay, or purchase it now with real money. When I purchase it, I get what's inside. Now here's an actual loot box scenario from Rocket League, a very popular (and e-sport) game I play daily: A "crate" is earned randomly through normal gameplay. They're often (ironically) categorized as "rare", or even "very rare". Inside the crate are 17 items, only one of which you really want. In order to unlock the crate, you have to either earn a "decryptor" via gameplay (these are actually rare, with maybe one earned per dozen hours of gameplay), or purchase "keys" at a cost of $1.49 for 1 key, $4.99 for 5, etc. The keys and decryptors don't actually open the crates, as you can already see their contents. Those contents are merely locked unless you spend a key or decryptor. When you do so, you don't actually get to choose your desired item. What actually happens when you spend a key or decryptor is that all items contained in the crate appear on spinning wheel (you can't make this shit up!), which stops randomly after being spun on 1 of the 17 items. You now own that 1 item. If you want the item you intended to get, play another 100+ hours or simply buy more keys. Each time you spin the wheel your chances or getting your desired item increases (1-in-16, 1-in-15, 1-in-14, etc). Note: 5 of the 17 items you get randomly from a crate are only usable with vehicles that must be purchased with real money from the "showroom". If this isn't gambling I can't be writing this because I'm a 🐔
Sweet a new Benchmarking software... for a handful of GPU's that can run it, which are currently all the same company, who actually helped build the benchmark... No one else seeing a glaring problem with this? =P Bring on RTX380TI or Voodoo3TI !!!
sli on 1060?
Amazon CPU Really? Bezos can't make a CPU, lol, it's laughable, guy needs to just stick to making cardboard boxes.
SH18 he can buy AMD all cash if he wanted, he will buy the talent. The issue is when will the government step in and break them up. Waaay to much power and influence
nvidia can suck it at this point
Criminalize loot boxes..... its predatory marketing to minors.........
Gaming Companies: "Loot Boxes have no real world monetary value." Gaming Companies: "We will, of course, continue to accept real world money for loot boxes."
Wait for the RTX TITAN cards coming GN can do another failure stream lol
gtx 1060 max q for labtops
So...nvidia rtx.....already pissed that nvidia doesnt care how much they charge for a card....
I love how the esa also forgets to mention that loot boxes cost real money. Lol
This is easy, loot boxes are not gambling. Gambling has a legal deffinition, and loot boxes don't fit in that deffinition. If you don't like them, don't buy them. No different than any of the surprise toy machines all over the country, or Cards.
I got my GN bling yesterday. It's awesome. Just buy some!
When we do one day eventually probably get a 2060 it's going to be kind of funny to see how they cripple it. It's just going to be a 1070 with the numbers crossed out and 2060 written on it I know but still I'm looking forward to the shit show.
Any mentions of the RTX Titan? LTT and Gavin Free leaked 'em.
Great marketing Nvidia but these reviewers and tech channels now lack credibility and integrity in my eyes (was it early access or 20 pieces of silver) Shame...... ;-(
Gamers Nexus, can you please benchmark and try to play a game, video edit, and encode on the NVIDIA Xavier and NVIDIA Jetson TX2? Both items are very unique and are very interesting products, and I have not found a single benchmark video or article for either device on the web at all. It would also be very interesting to compare them to the Mac Mini to see which one is more powerful for video editing. I own the TX2, and they come with a very powerful Navidia custom-embedded GPU for video rendering, analysis, image analysis, and artificial intelligence.
FTC can be bought, so I don't trust them one bit.
Loot boxes offer low-effort content at unreasonable price. I would prefer if video game companies decided on their own to not implement them but clearly that's not happening.
Question: Are GPU's and CPU's tested in real-world scenarios before they are shipped, and if so how thoroughly?
"Lootboxes have no real-world value.." - If that were true, ...they wouldn't cost any real-world money...
GPU CC mining isn't profitable anymore? That's news to me. While the profits aren't what they were, in most parts of the USA it's still profitable.
Amazon Basics server room you say? Maybe datacenter? You think they offer free shipping with Amazon Prime? I'mma need the room / building too.
I'm really kinda hoping that the Arctic Sound launch is Going to be reminiscent of AMD's FX series launch.. Super hyped, but the product is a flop.
I was okay with Loot Boxes till every company jumped on the loot box train and now every fucking game needs to have it. Optional Loot Boxes are fine, Not ones that require thousands to be competitive.
Ffs Nividia just drop a GTX 2060 with more gpu die instead of RTX and it could make so much money.
LOL!! Who'd have thounk it? Companies creating artificial product shortages to price gouge a naive market place that believes in the economics of supply and demand justifying higher prices...No companies would never do that!! Would they? LMAO!!
The Quaker Oats guy at 3:24 knows all the Titan RTX deets
Guessing Nvidia has GDDR5X overstock, hence the re-release?
1060 is the 2060? 🤔
These are allegations that have plenty of verified proof of links between gambling and loot boxes......
Why does it sound a little bit odd that a refreshed/rebinned 1080 version of the 1060 is coming out given the current context of RTX and its combination of unobtainable price point and the dearth of its headlining functionality? Is there even going to be a market for the 2060 card upon its release? Replenished 1060 stock definitely makes sense.
how much nvidia you paid for steve
Ok this is Epyc!
3:05 Looks like the "new" 1060 will support sli , or are those sli fingers just dummies because they used a 1070 / 1080 pcb or something ? If they are dummies , the protecting caps on the picture are a bit useless
Lootboxes are now being investigated because the game industry didn't regulate itself, so it was a matter of time until the government was going to step in.
There are actually 6 1060 models. Don't forget the eBay scam 1060s that are actually GTX 560s
The intro is so smooth******
Loot boxes should be illegal, children get hooked on it. Microtransactions should still be legal though. Its at the core gambling done by minors. In general against regulations but this seems reasonable.
Oh look! Maggie Hassan. A big government more regulation more control less liberty democrap. If parents don't want their children doing this, it is up to them to be parents and not let their kids play games that do this. If adults don't want to do it, then don't. Goodness, all these dolts running to nanny government for everything are mindless. Wow! People want no responsibility for anything in their lives. Useful idiots to the left.
go open the box and show this shit rtx titan which lies on this shelf at the bottom FUCK YOU nvidia FUCK you
Best cpu cooler to worst 2018??
Hey question, about the rtx titan, did all you guys(jay ,steve(s),ltt etc...do the accidental rtx titan reveal becuase you were paid or because you guys all spoke to eachother and didnt want people to waste mony and you were trying to help us the consumer out?
Steve, how much Nvidia paid you to show RTX Titan?
Anyone who actually thought the vid card manufacturer's weren't cashing in on the mining craze is a fool. Even without increase in price going to them, they literally sold off every single gpu they MADE for over 2 years. When they doubled down on production (but didn't give us a price break) they screwed themselves. They took a chance on keeping the status quo just a few months longer, and it didn't pan out. Mining didn't just come outta a dark corner and thump 'em over the head.
Hopefully AMD goes for Intel/Nvidias Laptop Market next year.
I cared more about that oatmeal commercial than the launch of a useless graphic card.
28 down votes? Lol are you people Fucking retarded? Why down vote because you can? Dont like honest news? Lol
is that a RTX titan in the white box at the back another nvidia rip off $1700 hahahahahaha fu-k u greedvidia
Is the FTC ever not investigating loot boxes these days?
Please tell me you won't participate in this stupid RTX Titan marketing stunt. I believe in you.
Do we consider any trading card hobby/game as gambling? Is that not directly the same concern? Yet the world didn’t burn to the ground with every trading card game/sport. I get not wanting to promote gambling but there are a lot of situations outside gaming where you pay for something without a full knowledge of what you are getting. In game purchases, especially on something unknown is incredibly infuriating but it’s no problem to simply not play their game. If that model wasn’t profitable (IE pissed off people stopped paying) the model would move back to a fixed up front cost. But people don’t stop spending, they just start bitching. It’s like complaining that Walmart killed the local stores when the second Walmart opens you stop going anywhere else. The only one killing this is the consumer. The producers are simply meeting the demand.
I hate loot boxes and think that some companies are exploiting gamers, particularly children. That being said we don't need big brother government to step in and "save" us from this. Government will almost certainly make this worse where we should let the market take care of this and parents should actually pay attention to what their children are doing, something parents used to do.
if loot boxes have no real world value then why do they cost real world money?
They cost money, therefor they have real world value period... wetter the items you receive after opening your box have realworld value or not = a moot point.. the box in itself costs real world money therefor it has real world value.
ESA is like cigarette companies back in 1950's, when they denied relations with cigs and lung cancer.
+Hevethee lol that sounds about right.
+チェシャ猫 Of course they won't they want piece of that pie.
sooooo the government is going to step in and solve nothing? that's what happened with cigs, people still smoke but now they have to spend a lot more for taxes. don't get me wrong i hate loot boxes and won't play games that use predatory tactics but the government is not going to solve this problem just like they couldn't stop smoking.
It would be intel's 4th attempt at a descrete video chipset. They had one during the 386 days as well. It also flopped.
So are you leaking that RTX Titan like Linus and Jayz did?
Screw the federal government! Just another arbitrary law in order to control the masses. This is fucking ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I HATE LOOT BOXES, but making it illegal is abhorrent. And the federal government wonders why there are people wanting to kill them every second of every day. They are the SCUM of the Earth. The political class making ARBITRARY laws that are written on fancy pieces of paper backed by the threat of force by their 'policy' enforcers, a.k.a the police!
Loot boxes - "have no real-world value" This is what makes them so dumb and even dumber to splash out real world money on them, they're worthless.
The million versions of the 1060 does lend itself to a unique opportunity: You can test VRAM usage/perf hits in various games & settings, both in terms of capacity and performance demand, while maintaining a more-or-less consistent core performance.
I love when you apply thermal paste. I don't know why, but please continue being sponsored by thermal grizzly.
Is that the Great Wall PSU from the OP prebuilt on the right? Will it be the first subject of GN PSU review?
I was so distracted by Steve wearing 2 shirts & 1 missing a sleeve I had to listen to it the whole video a second time
I find the loot box comment from the ESA is full of garbage. The items from Loot Crates can and do have full on real world value. Look at PUBG. You can sell the skins you get from loot crates that are locked and you have to buy a key to unlock it and then turn around and sell it on the steam store.
The problem is though that's only perceived value, they're only worth what someone is willing to pay. You can't objectively measure a win or loss. The exception would be if you were to track the going rate and use that as a measurement, like with stock. Remember the CSGO gambling sites? They were using Steam's market data to do exactly that.
Paying for the chance to win is gambling - as a parent I want it gone now.
i bought GTX 1080Ti at the best time. That small time window when mining started dying out, and before RTX turned out to be overpriced garbage, so price of GTX 1080Ti went up again.
You missed 1060 Laptop :D.
Waiting for the 3000 series so I can get Maxwell at a lower price
Hello! I have one request for Gamers Nexus. I saw these Ryzen V1000 series emdedded MBOs with Vega 3,8,11 GPUs poping up, but there's not much info out there. Can you please do a in depth review.
GDDR6 for PS5/Xbox?
I miss the time when you could just buy a game and not worry about spending for additional content afterwards other than an optional expansion pack or DLC. Loot boxes are just an act of avarice, plain and simple.
If the ESRB wants to keep the government out of game regulation they had best get there head out of there ass and start self regulation of them.
Does he keep saying Samsun? With no g? 10:12 10:37
