Hey Jay! Unfortunately, I bought a corsair CS550M PSU. The PCI-E cable shorted out the power supply. Yeah yeah, no big deal, get a refund and revert back to my old PSU. So I uninstall the corsair PSU and reinstall the old one. Turns out, the corsair one shorted out my graphics card. I've done a little reading and found that there really isn't any way to repair the graphics card. Any advice? Thanks. Keep up the great videos man! I love to see a new JayzTwoCents video in my sub box!

Not much, but I stumbled across your channel when I was upgrading my rig a month ago and I am liking your channel. Keep up the good work. PS. I do have one question. The last thing I need to upgrade in my system is the video card. My current setup is i5 4690k, 16Gb DDR3, 120Gb SSD and 2 Seagate 7500rpm 1Tb drives. The R9 280x and the GTX 960 are in my price range. Which do you think is the better bang/buck? Thanks again. Keep up with the high quality informative videos!

+Philip R. Cool thanks for the tip. I'm definitely going with a 4Gb card. One question...Does this 960 4Gb have the same 3.5Gb issue that the 970's have? I am just wondering because obviously this is a custom EVGA thing and not an Nvidia thing. the issues with the 970 were an Nvidia caused problem.

Hey Jay, I've looked at your review on the 970 ssc and I feel to catch myself up on the more current games, a decent card would be that of one to portray, at least, a swell performance. Even though it has an issue due to the .5 GB being displaced usage I still wouldn't mind it since it is a newer model with an exceptional background. However aside from that I'm not sure if that's all I would need, as under its specs it says it would need a minimum of 500 watts (the amount my computer has as well) and I'm not sure about my processor being good enough, and so much more info that I can't seem to crack myself to understand completely. If there is a way to ask you about my current computer and of any upgrades I may want to work on, and if you're willing and able, could I swing a few questions into the jay cave to get my gaming on the rail again?

2 290 would give more fps and 8 gigs of ram is enough even for 12k. i run games on 4k with 3 gigs of ram and haven't had any problems. if you plan sli later than titan would be the way to go but i would rather upgrade the 290s later than a titan. titans aren't worth the price imo

Hi Jayz, I recently had my water cooler leak and it damaged 1 of my gtx 770 and my motherboard. I have already bought a replacement for my motherboard, but have been thinking of upgrading my gpu's instead of getting another 770 to replace the one I lost. I just saw on one of your videos that you recommend always getting a single gpu of the best you can afford instead of 2 lesser ones for sli. However, considering that 2 gtx 980 seem to do better than a single titan x on most posts and benchmarks I've read, I'm sort of confused on what to do here... I do play video games a lot but I also just graduated from computer animation so I also create art for videos and video games which means a lot of rendering. Any thoughts? Thank you!

Hey, Jayz, Keep up the good work, man. I have a question here, I am noticing that video card feeder blocks (EK, etc), and fittings (Bitspower, etc) seem to feed the card blocks in parallel flow splitting fashion. Does it matter if they are fed by flow splitting or daisy chained? I'm about a year out, maybe a little less, from doing a custom loop in my system, and am wondering if there is a temp difference between splitting or daisy chaining. A lot of what you have said to date makes me think this is not the case, or if it is the temp diff is so low as to not really matter. Also, on the subject of flow splitting. I have a Gigabyte Z97X Gaming G1 WiFi Black Edition. This has the water blocks on the VRM stacks. The blocks appear to be connected to each other with 1/4" or so, and I do plan to be using 1/2" ID acrylic tubing to reduce fittings costs, while still having a rigid system. How would I best deal with this? Would a flow-splitter of some kind be the answer? Thanks, Jim

Jayz, your hardware videos are awesome and helpful, and I was wondering if you could do a video on AMD/NVIDIA drivers? A lot of people will review hardware, but I've ran into a lot of fanboyism about AMD drivers, and there isn't too much objective coverage on the 'vs.' aspect drivers. While I certainly don't take blatant bias as truth, however in my experience, usually when there is a rumor or something of similar nature, there is a shard of truth at the center, albeit twisted to fit only one side. That said, could you do a video to debunk the whole drivers issue? It would be awesome!

Hi Jayz! You are most likely the person responsible for my addiction/hobby of overclocking PC's. I started off with a FX-4300, then worked into my current 8320 (I know, the 8350 is better, but I planned on beating this one to death first). You're tutorials really helped me out, so of course you're the first person I'm coming to for yet more help. I'm browsing around mobo's for the FX series with a 990fx NB, and I'm not able to really read much into the critique. Every board I've looked at has at least one complaint about heat. I really like the ASUS bios features, but I've read that some of the 990fx series can run a little hot on the NB and VRMs. My major concerns at this point is the VRMs. Any suggestions for a board with VRMs that can handle a higher load? Honestly, I'm working with 4.4 ghz on my 8320, and would love to hit a stable 4.6 or higher.

Hey there I have a little GPU-economics question for anyone reading to answer: Will the GTX 980 prices drop when the R9-300 series comes out? If so, how much can it drop?

There is usually a disproportionate premium for the 'top dog', which at the moment is a 980. It actually performs around 10% better than a 970. So if AMD want to make big plays, the 980 could go as low as 20% more than 970 . Maybe even the price of what a 970 is atm

Hey just wanted to say thanks for the info you post here all the time, it's a very helpful tool to me as a potential builder. On a different note I feel strange when reading reviews of motherboards as I plan out my first build, I keep seeing people noting that motherboards aren't lasting more then 2 years which is made even more confusing for me who's currently working on a 2nd Generation Macbook Pro which is almost 7 years old. I bought this behemoth for on the fly editing and film and it has been a champ for a long time, I'm just wondering how match the reliability while moving back into the full intel platform. If the board is going to fail in less then two years of 24-hour use then I'm now completely confused :( are motherboards lasting more then 2 years in the current market?

I know you hate the term "Bottlenecking" and how A LOT of people overuse the term, well here's a question, is my AMD A10 6700, "Too slow" for my reference 970?, I got the 970 not too long ago, and am just not happy with the frames I get. AMD A10-6700 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 8gb of DDR3 1TB 7200 RPM HDD Nvidia GeForce 970 I play BF4,

imo, you should be able to run everything on max, with 60+ fps in terms of gaming at least.

Hi Jay, I come to you with a very important question today :) I have built an X99 PC, with a custom watercooling loop (EK) and have not filled it yet. You guessed it - that's the question ; Demineralised, Di-ionized or distilled water to mix with my EK pastel concentrate ? I have done some research and learnt that they are far from being the same and that some of them can cause nefarious things to a PC loop (corrosion, soft tubing rigidification, white spots apperin in the loop) Could you enlighten me sa to which is the best (no compromise) - I really want to keep my ~5000€ PC safe :)

+LouisThau I thought it must have been in Skunkworks. Would the brand really matter? Also from the little I read on wiki for 2-3 minutes it's not the process that matters as much as the final result. Check the purity and conductivity of the water. Then again, I haven't watercooled ever (I did actually watercool my motorcycle a few times), so what I say more or less doesn't matter. xD

+pesadjo I saw that video - this is in the Skunkworks VLOG part 4 (filing of the loop), and it says distilled water, but in France we don't have that brand and it is actually hard to get while demineralised water is very easy to buy. There seems to be a bit controversy on the internet with 50% of people saying distilled is better, and the other 50% saying demineralised is better. And then there is de-ionised water. You can understand my confusion... :)

I remember seeing him buy destilled water for his watercooling system in one of his vids. Sorry, but I wasn't able to recall which one it was. I remember he said how blessed he is to live in a place, where he can just walk up to the local store and they have destilled water selling really cheap there.

Loving so much what you're doing Jay ! Without any contest you're my favorite youtuber! Your humor is awesome :D you allways remain objective and trully are an inspiration when it comes to building a computer. I have always wanted to watercool my computer but had no idea of how to do it, thanks to you, this is not an issue anymore :D I am really grateful! Greetings from France
